Portrait:Description:Gombo ("Protettore") è un giovane guerriero della tribù Skanake rimasto fedele al Khan Borijin. Non avendo la corporatura tipica dei grossi guerrieri Huergar, ha preferito specializzarsi nel tiro con l'arco e serve la sua tribù come avanguardia, sempre accompagnato dalla sua incredibile cavalcatura, Yonas.

Il tentato assassinio del suo Khan da parte di Neoke e la conseguente divisione della tribù hanno lasciato Gombo infuriato nel confronti dell'Huergar rinnegato, colpevole di aver indebolito la tribù puramente per il proprio tornaconto e, più semplicemente, di essere un traditore. Mentre la rabbia defluiva per lasciare spazio a una sempre maggior determinazione, Gombo ha continuato a servire la tribù Skanake come avanguardia, al meglio delle sue possibilità, attendendo che la situazione si calmasse e Borijin decidesse come agire.

L'abitudine ha reso Gombo una persona non troppo loquace, sopratutto al di fuori della propria tribù, e schiva; nonostante il carattere da lupo solitario, però, è orgoglioso di poter contribuire alla sopravvivenza della propria tribù. Se prima fare l'esploratore era sufficiente, il tradimento di Neoke ha reso consapevole Gombo che spesso i pericoli maggiori distano ben più di una giornata di cavallo dall'accampamento della tribù: la determinazione per affrontarli di certo non gli manca.
